There are numerouse ways of engraving initials and monograms into signet rings
Traditionally hand drawn onto the face of the ring by a hand engraver using a sharp pointed scriber which lightly marks the surface providing guide lines.
Then utilising tungsten carbide hand held scorpers ( tiny chissels ) engraving fairly deeply into the surface , and repeatedly where required wider or deeper.
This requires artistic skills as well as dexterity and a keen eye for detail
Technology Has Moved on some hand engravers now use pnuematic gravers
Unfortunately I do not have the artistic skills required and even if I did, as I now have
Ostioarthritis holding tiny hand held tools for long periods would not be practical
Likewise a Pnuematic graver sending vibrations through my hands is not desireable
Instead I use a computer to set up the initials and a YAG GALVO engraving machine
The advantage is a far deeper longer lasting engraving which is more precise.
The disadvantage is being tied to set shape initials or hours of manipulating on screen
by trial and error to get something that is both pleasing to the eye and fits the face.

Relief engraving is when the background is removed so that the intials stand proud
Because the laser can engrave at multiple levels stunning results can be achieved
forcing one initial infront of the other encompassed by an outer protective border
Today there are a multitude of unique fonts suitable although costly to purchase

The fashion for seal engraved initials, reversed monograms is actually easier by laser
Unlike a hand engraver I can set the initials up and click the mouse to reverse designs
The laser can cut multiple depths or layers forcing one letter forward and one behind

How my products differ in price to my competitors
First of all let's be totally clear my products are cheaper than my competitors but equally as good
I am a cottage industy working from home , no overheads semi retired NO VAT
